A Little Glimpse into Open Door

Get Involved in the Life of Open Door

It is our joy to provide opportunities to gather (as we equip) and scatter (as we serve on mission) both in our community and around the world. This means that we are continually curating ways for all ages to step into what God is doing in and through Open Door.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

One of the first things you’ll notice is how generationally diverse our community is, representing a wide range of life stages. Our focus in the Sunday gatherings is practicing God’s presence together through worship and prayer and learning from God’s Word (The Bible). We try to model our belief that Jesus meets us where we actually are and not where we wish we were, by creating an environment of authenticity where people can truly be themselves. We invite you to come as you are!

Additionally, our church gatherings are very child-friendly. Though we provide specific environments for children, we understand that a person new to our community may not be comfortable being away from their child so we welcome whole families to attend together and have family rooms available towards the back of our sanctuary if needed.

Lastly, our church gathering last about 70-85 minutes with many people lingering long after in our Gathering Place (large lobby space) experiencing community together.

From infants to young adults, we have multiple ways for your children to connect relationally and learn the way of Jesus in community. Feel free to check out our Kids, Students, and Young Adults ministry pages to learn more.  Additionally, during church gatherings we provide multiple designated family rooms for nursing mothers and parents with active toddlers as needed.

There are many ways for you to receive prayer. First, know that our pastors are very approachable and would love to pray with you in passing or after a gathering. It is also very common for us to invite people to experience prayer in many different ways during our church gathering. (Know that as we practice praying together in community, this is not an obligation, but an invitation. Feel free to participate or simply observe.) Also, we have trained prayer team members available after each Sunday gathering. They are located at the front of the sanctuary and will be wearing lanyards.

Additionally, you can leave a message on our prayer line, (763)416-5887 ext.1374. Be sure to leave your name and phone number if you would like someone to call you back.

Though some may dress up a bit, we are generally a very casual church. Simply said, come as you are by dressing how you are comfortable and enjoy worship in a welcoming community.

Parking at Open Door is easy. We have a large parking lot on site, which means you don’t have to worry about street parking, or not finding a place to park. If you’re new to Open Door, please park in the South Lot and look for one of the spaces labeled “church visitors.”

Our Information Center is where our team of volunteers are stationed to help answer any additional questions you may have. Look for their volunteer lanyards and friendly faces, and they’ll be able to guide you through what you’re looking for. You can also email info@thedoor.org with any questions you might have.
