FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Our community is generationally diverse, representing a wide range of life stages. During our Sunday gatherings, we focus on practicing God’s presence together through worship, prayer, and learning from God’s Word (The Bible). We strive to create an environment of authenticity where people can truly be themselves, modeling our belief that Jesus meets us where we are, not where we wish we were. You are welcome to come as you are!

We are also very child-friendly and provide specific environments for children. However, we understand that someone new to our community may not be comfortable being away from their child, so we welcome whole families to attend together. If needed, we have family rooms available towards the back of our sanctuary.

Lastly, our church gathering lasts about 70-85 minutes, with many people lingering long after in our Gathering Place (large lobby space) experiencing community together.

From infants to young adults, we have multiple ways for your children to connect and learn the way of Jesus in community. Check out our Kids, Students, and Young Adults ministry pages to learn more about these opportunities. Additionally, we provide multiple designated family rooms for nursing mothers and parents with active toddlers, so you can be with your children and attend the Sunday gathering without worrying about any disturbance.

There are many ways for you to receive prayer at our church. Our pastors are very approachable and would be happy to pray with you, either in passing or after a gathering. During our church gatherings, we often invite people to experience prayer in different ways. Please feel free to participate or observe as you feel comfortable. We also have trained prayer team members available after each Sunday gathering. They can be found at the front of the sanctuary and will be wearing lanyards.

If you prefer, you can leave a message on our prayer line at (763)416-5887 extension 1374. Be sure to leave your name and phone number if you would like someone to call you back.

Yes, we partner with a local roasting company Driven Coffee to offer you freshly brewed, delicious coffee. Although the coffee is free, we kindly ask for a $1 donation per cup. However, please don’t worry about it if you cannot afford it. All donations made to our Coffee Cart above our expenses are given to one of our mission partners.

Though some dress up a bit, we are generally a very casual church. Come as you are and dress comfortably for worship in a welcoming community.

Parking at Open Door is hassle-free! We have a large parking lot on site, which means you don’t have to worry about finding street parking, or struggling to find a spot. If it’s your first time visiting Open Door, we suggest you park in the South Lot and look for the designated spaces labeled as “church visitors.”

Our Information Center is the place where you can find our team of friendly volunteers who are ready to assist you with any additional questions you may have. You can easily spot them by their volunteer lanyards. They will guide you through anything you are looking for. If you have any questions, you can also send an email to info@thedoor.org.
