From Sunday morning to family events, and everything in between, our kids programming is designed to introduce your kids (ages birth-5th grade) to the ways of Jesus.
Where You Can Expect Biblical Teaching & Formation
At Open Door we are honored to have the opportunity to love your kids and point them toward Jesus.
If you’re a first time visitor, you’ll be directed to the high top table adjacent to our upstairs kiosk and welcomed by our staff.
At Open Door we explore God’s Big Story through the entire Bible with Wonder Ink, a David C. Cook curriculum. Over three years kids will experience 150 stories reinforcing the following values: 1) God knows me. 2) Jesus loves me. 3) The Holy Spirit leads me. 4) I am a child of God. These values are incorporated throughout morning worship, storytime, response stations, games & other activities.
Open Door’s Kids Ministry is fortunate to have amazing volunteers and staff. To ensure that we have the best volunteers possible, we have a thorough application process that includes interviews with staff members, reference checks, and background checks (for adults). In addition to this, we also organize a large group training every fall for new volunteers and provide ongoing training throughout the year during our Sunday morning volunteer huddles.
There are multiple ways that parents can be involved. 1) Sign up for the Family Portal to stay informed about what your kids are learning and receive ideas on how to reinforce Bible stories at home throughout the week. 2) Volunteer. If you’re interested in volunteering within our Kid’s ministry connect with Sarah Pederson through the form below. 3) Donate coffee/food gift cards to use for volunteer appreciation. 4) Take a peek at our Amazon wishlist. We’ll periodically add items to the wishlist that would be nice for the ministry to have but don’t necessarily fall within the annual budget.
