Weekday Serving Opportunities


Adult Life
Event Hospitality

Help during occasional retreats and large events with set up, making coffee,
or cleaning up refreshments or box lunches. We would contact you as needs arise. Usual time commitment per event is a 2-4 hour shift. E-mail Alissa.

Meal Ministry
Help Open Door attenders with a health difficulty or transition by delivering a meal made from the deli or prepared in your home. You will be contacted by email as needs arise for individuals and families from your area. E-mail Kim

Community Meal Helpers

Help out in the kitchen on Tuesdays from 4-7pm during the school year. Commitment time is 1-3 hours. Prep and serve buffet-style meals with other fun energetic volunteers. You may serve every week or every other week. Contact for Alissa more information.

Tuesday Night Hosts

We're looking for a few people on Tuesdays from 6:15-7:30pm. Commitment is 1-2 hours. Greet and help people find their appropriate rooms for ministry programming.. You may serve weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, sign up with a friend and serve together. Contact Kim for more information.

Funeral Ministry
Meal Servers
We need people who are available with 2-3 days notice to serve a two hour shift setting up, serving, or cleaning up meals.

Funeral Hosts & Set Up
Set up rooms for funeral or memorial services and be present to the family and friends during the service. You must have a heart to be with people in grief, and be available during the day with a 2-5 day notice.

Food Providers
Help lift the burden of grieving families by donating salads, bars or cookies for funeral meals. A 2-3 day notice is given to prepare or purchase food and deliver it to the church.

Marriage Ministry

Premarriage Support

Authentic married couples are needed to walk alongside engaged couples through the premarriage process.

Newly Marrieds Group Facilitators

Married couples are needed to help facilitate a group of couples married less than five years. The Newly Marrieds group meets twice a month.

Open Door learns about many needs to pray for. If you are interested in bearing another’s burdens, e-mail Peggy or call ext 1303.

Receptionist
We are looking for people with good customer service skills who can commit to a two or three hour shift once a week. If you’re available to help out during business hours (9am-3pm), contact Carol.



Recovery Ministry
Group Leaders

People who have a heart for recovery ministry and are known in the Open Door community are needed to co-lead a men’s or women’s support groups. E-mail Bob or call ext 1302.
